Lighthouse Keeper's House Sneak Peak and Kenosha County Historical Society 130th Anniversary Celebration

TBA
$10 Adults/$5 children for tours to top of lighthouse
Join the Kenosha History Center for a sneak peak preview of the restored Lighthouse Keeper's House and help the Historical Society celebrate our 130th Anniversary. The Lighthouse Keeper's House has been in various stages of restoration and planning since 2001. Come hear what it takes to restore a 141 year old structure with additions that are 100 years old. The building has been restored to a 1907-08 time period, complete with historic paint colors. The restored building will become Kenosha's newest museum space, a lighthouse and maritime musuem that documents Kenosha's lighthouse keepers, shipping and fishing history. The 1866 lighthouse will be open for tours to the top and food/beverages will be available on the grounds. Stay tuned for more information on this not-to-miss event of the year!
