Join the Kenosha History Center for the opening day of the 2011 season at the lighthouse and maritime museum. View historic harbor maps, an authentic fresnels lens (the light that formerly lit lighthouses), lighthouse keeper's tools and learn about Kenosha's harbor history. The first floor of the building has been restored to a 1907-08 time period, complete with historic paint colors and a period kitchen. The restored building is Kenosha's newest museum space, a lighthouse and maritime museum that documents Kenosha's lighthouse keepers, shipping and fishing history. The 1866 lighthouse will also be open for tours to the top.
